The Kiss

A sense of passionate obligation
Soaked in pure delight
So close and yet so far
She lays asleep, her door ajar
As restlessly, recklessly he paces
Desiring her delight
Craving her company
Yearning to reach her in the night
His bare feet
Longing with tense anticipation
Were ready to run
Ready to be caught up in the passion
That would carry him closer to her
He wanted to run
To flood her chambers with light
To embrace her warmly
And lavish his love upon her
To pull her up and dance with her
Taking pleasure in the sound of her laughter
O' to pour annointed oil upon her head
To watch it run in golden ropes
Crowning her with his love
Declaring her his beloved
O' to feel her arms clasp round his neck
Her forehead resting on his shoulder
Comfortable as he held her
Satisfied and delighted in his presence
O' to have her know his love and to love him
To kiss her lips and to leave her craving more
To have her as his own
His feet could stay no longer
And he ran to meet her in her chambers
To woo her in her dreams
To tease her lips with whispered kisses
To draw her feet to dance
Her heart to love
And her spirit deeper into his arms
Where he could hold her close
Where he could release to her the passion
Of a Holy kiss.
